Together, we will explore the beautiful countryside that surrounds this iconic Kirklees landmark. The walk is 5 ½ miles including the hike to the top for our free pop-up coffee stop, while we admire the view.
And all good walks should start and finish at a good pub for a pint, and this will be no exception. We’ll meet, at the beautiful Golden Cock in Farnley Tyas, and for those that want to, we’ll stop for a drink after.
Bretton (with optional transport from Huddersfield Station)
The Sculpture park is one of West Yorkshire’s best days out. Set in the beautiful Bretton Hills, the park is home to numerous displays dotted all over this park plus, for those less mobile, there’s a gallery to explore. As well as having free time to go off and explore, we’ll be coming together to enjoy a Friendlees picnic.
Transport from Huddersfield will be provided, or you can meet us there.
As featured on the BBC’s Oz and James Drink to Britain, The Transpennine Real Ale Trail is a unique journey in search of Yorkshire and Lancashire’s best real ale pubs – by train! All the pubs are within a stones throw of the local railway station, so finding our way there (and back) couldn’t be easier.
There will be a cost involved in buying your train ticket & depending on how much beer you drink!
